Lavender

Dating back to ancient Egypt, Greece & Rome, lavender is used to purify the body & mind. Easily grown in the yard or in pots in your home, this lovely fragrant flower is quite magical.

Lavender is most commonly used in aromatherapy to reduce stress, headaches, nausea, restlessness & induce feelings of calmness & promote restful sleep.

Lavender is powerful & also quite gentle. Used topically, it calms & soothes skin irritations such as acne, eczema, sun burn & bug bites.

Try these to enjoy the wellness benefits of lavender

Lavender tea

Bring water to a boil & add lavender flowers to a tea infuser basket. Steep 10 minutes & remove lavender. Add some honey & enjoy.

For a peaceful sleepy tea, steep chamomile with the lavender.

Lavender linen spray

In a spray bottle, fill 3/4 with distilled water, add 1 tablespoon witch hazel & 5-10 drops of lavender oil (we prefer Doterra) depending on bottle size. Shake & spray on linens & bedding.

Lavender skin tonic

In a small pot, boil water & add fresh lavender. Boil for at least 15 minutes. All of the beautiful purple hues will disappear. Cool & store in glass bottle. We keep ours in the fridge. Use on skin when needed to calm senses or skin irritations.

Adding fresh rosemary is a favorite in our home. Not only does it fill our home with an amazing aroma, it also is a cognitive stimulate, creating an increase in alertness & focus.
